UNIT #1
10 MINUTES: #1 CORE VALUES:HONESTY
We will have a group discussion about how honesty applies to golf, one example, and life, one example.

GOLF TERMS: #1 OPEN, SQUARE, CLOSED
Demonstrate all three, with club face & stance.

RULES & ETIQUETTE #1: TALKING ON THE GOLF COURSE
We must be quiet and respectful when: Others are getting ready to hit shots & coaches are speaking, you can also learn by listening to the coaches teach others. When is it good to talk? When saying 'good shot' or 'nice try.' Never say negative words or bad language. Be a good example on and off the golf course for you and your program. When is it ok to yell? Yelling "FORE" is good when your ball is heading or may hit others.

20 MINUTES: #1 FULL SWING-GRIP
We will show proper grip and let the students execute shots using their new grip techniques.

15 MINUTES: #1 CHIPPING
Show a more neutral grip, stance narrow and open, swing with less wrist cock, use shoulders not hands to return club head to the ball.

15 MINUTES: #1 PUTTING
Show proper grip lower palms and no fingers, stance, and still head.
